The Sanctuary is a boutique accommodation on Belmont Circular Road, one of the oldest residential streets in Port of Spain. Four colour-themed studios and Quincy's Quarters, our two-bedroom apartment, share a single quiet address, close to Queen’s Park Savannah and the cultural heart of the capital.

Guests find comfortable accommodation, an intimate scale, and a location that opens onto Trinidad’s neighbourhoods, culture, and coastline. The Sanctuary is designed for travellers who want a considered home base rather than a resort.

The oldest suburb of Port of Spain, closest to everything that matters.

Belmont is a hillside neighbourhood of historic residential streets, mas camps, and pan yards that predate the city’s modern grid. From The Sanctuary’s black gate, Queen’s Park Savannah is within walking distance, downtown Port of Spain is a short drive, and Trinidad’s Carnival heritage is quite literally at the door.

It is a working residential community — not a tourist quarter — which is precisely what makes it a distinctive place to stay.

Carnival is a season, not just a weekend.

The two climactic days of Carnival Monday and Tuesday are only the summit. Fetes, panorama, J’ouvert, Kings & Queens, and traditional mas unfold across weeks. Belmont is home to several historic mas camps, and The Sanctuary sits within the neighbourhood at the centre of it.
